Frequently Asked Questions
Where do your dogs come from?

A- Most were facing euthanasia in shelters or pounds, some are owner turn-ins that might have otherwise faced an undesirable fate in another's hands.
Where are you located ? A- We do NOT have a facility or shelter. Our dogs are in foster homes located throughout NW Ohio and SE Michigan. We believe foster homes are a benefit to the dogs and clients. Our dogs are assessed in a home environment. Any issues can be observed and the process of training can begin prior to adoption.
Where can I call for more information? A- The group is run by volunteers many of which have full time jobs and families too. We do not have a dedicated phone number. Please contact us via the contact page here or our email address - [email protected]. We make every effort to answer inquiries within 24 hours.
How can I see a dog in person? A- At our adoption events, click here for a list. After you submit an application and are approved, a meet and greet with the dog you're hoping to adopt can be arranged at that time.
What is your stance on "outside dogs"? A- All dogs belong IN the home for interaction as a family member. Do not apply to adopt one of our dogs if it will not live in your home with you as a family member, or if other dogs that you currently have are being kept outside. What is your adoption contribution? A- The contribution varies by pet/age/etc. To find an adoption contribution, go to awesome adoptables and click on the name of the pet you are interested in for more info. Adoption contributions are not negotiable unless indicated.
If after I adopt from you I cannot for whatever reason keep the pet will you take it back? A- Yes of course, as a matter of fact our contract, signed by you at the adoption, clearly states if for any reason you cannot keep the pet he or she must be returned to us.
Are you non-profit ? A- yes we make no money on our adoptions, all money goes directly back into the rescue for vet care, supplies, etc. We have no paid employees. We are currently working towards our 501c3 Non Profit status.
I can't take care of my pet anymore will you take it ? Often, people believe they must give up their pet because they do not know how to handle a particular issue. Can we help your pet? Our website has many solutions for common problems.
Volunteer rescue organizations such as ours cannot take in unwanted pets unnecessarily. We have a limited budget and small number of available foster homes to care for these animals until a forever home is found. Dogs with no homes (pounds/shelter dogs) are given foster home priority over owner turn-ins. We may accept a dog if we have available foster space. If we do not have available foster space and you can keep the pet until a home is found, we can offer you a courtesy posting on our website.
